ABOUT

Although I still remember the thrill I felt the first time I used a camera at about seven years of age, it took a number of years before I gained an awareness of photography as an artistic medium. It was this realization that began my lifelong interest in the craft and art of photography.

My desire to create photographic art, combined with an enjoyment of traveling the world as much as possible, and documenting it along the way, defines what I do as a photographer. Although it is not always possible to capture images of the world and its people in a truly artistic way, whenever the conditions are right, I am drawn in that direction.

At other times, it's the story that is important. Just as learning about a place, its people and culture heightens the travel experience, it is a prerequisite to creating worthwhile travel images. From a documentation perspective, this is what I strive for in my travel stock photography.

Photographically speaking, I live in a world somewhere between that of being a pure hobbyist and one of working as a full-time professional. This gives me the freedom to photograph the subjects that interest me in a way that satisfies me artistically. That’s not to say that when I’m photographing I’m not paying attention to the commercial possibilities for my images, but it doesn’t dictate what I do.

If you haven't already done so, I invite you to explore my website. And if you happen to be looking for photographic art prints or travel stock imagery, these can be purchased or licensed.

Thank you for your interest. I hope that you share in at least some of the enjoyment that I have had in making these images.

"...photography is an art of observation. It's about finding something interesting in an ordinary place..."  -  Elliott Erwitt
